What a very strange time of life this has been for us all, for most of the nation starting off it was a very unsettling time, which for some has progressed into some lovely free time for self reflection and self development. Free time which people have valued massively. For us here at Tillys, thankfully we have had our online store setup prior to this and what a journey it has been. It has been a big development stage, which we are so very grateful for and we really feel quite lucky. As a family we have developed much of a production line which of course has had its ups and downs and definitely more than a few laughs! It has been so wonderful being able to provide our fudge to you throughout lockdown, and evidently bring joy to so many. It has been such a delight to see how many thoughtful people have sent gifts to loved ones, friends and family who have been dearly missed in isolation with such lovely personalised messages inside boxes, and hampers made for local hospitals.
A week into lockdown we decided we wanted to also do some fundraising of our own, as well as some fudge donations here and there, we added the option to our website to add a £1 donation or more to your order. Yesterday, we made our first donation of £188.50 to the NHS charities, which was raised throughout April! We would like to thank everyone who donated and we can’t wait to see how much we raise throughout May, keep them coming!
Needless to say we have no complaints with our situation, but there has been some things put on hold for us too. Our artisan markets are of course cancelled indefinitely, we will put a notice out when they will be returning and hopefully we will get some of the summertime with them! *Fingers crossed* Nothing like a sunny days stroll round an artisan market picking up lots of lovely treats. We were working on our wedding collection after the success of our wedding cake in February, fudge wedding favours and party pieces. We have had some bespoke requests for favours, which we are currently working on designs, we will then hopefully be able to create a full collection over the next month or so, depending on how lockdown eases and the access we can have to suppliers. Additionally, due to the restrictions to some business we have been unable to get certain ingredients for some flavours, and there for have been unable to make them! Fear not though, if your favourite flavour has currently disappeared, it will be back!
